What is this word "grounding" that we hear so much about? Basically it means being present in your body and at one with the Earth. The challenge is that there are so many distractions going on around us that we do in fact forget ourselves.
We are spiritual beings in a physical body. Most of the time, we are fretting over yesterday and worrying about tomorrow. We need to be present in the now, fully conscious and aware that the now is the present, and the present is the gift. That's why it is called "present", because it is a gift. Feel gratitude for this, and your emotions will shift into a grounded state, almost immediately.
So a simple exercise such as wiggling your toes as often as you can, will go a long way to keeping you present in the "now" in your body, and away from the drama playing out in your head.
Not only is it good as an every day exercise, but it is great for those very anxious moments of sensory overload. It will help the Indigo to be more attentive in class, keep from fits of anger and be more emotionally balanced. And it will keep the parent from saying or doing something that they may regret.
