Self Compassion

So you had a tough day. Flunked an exam?  Didn’t live up to someone’s expectations?  Had a disagreement with your best friend?  Well, don’t beat yourself up.  Take a moment. Take a walk outside and regroup. You are not a screw up. You are a human doing the best you can. And it is challenging to please everyone, so don’t!

Indigos feel emotions to their core. When they are happy, it is contagious. But when they are down, it runs deep...

Indigos Overcoming Fear on the Earthly Plane

Posted by EnlightenedIndigoChild on February 10, 2013 at 7:15 PM Comments comments (0)

Although I am pretty comfortable with the etheric realms, I can find it challenging in the 3D.

My experience with ice skating is a perfect example.

When I first heard about a free skating rink in NYC, I was so excited and yet so scared. It reminded me of when I was in middle school and our class went on an all day ice skating trip out of the city.  I hurt my knee pretty bad that day when I fell on the ice.  My knee was swollen, I had to limp home and call m...

The Full Moon

Posted by EnlightenedIndigoChild on November 28, 2012 at 7:45 PM Comments comments (0)

Tonight is a full moon.   It happens approximately every 29 days. Sometimes there may be two full moons in one month, making the second full moon the Blue Moon.

This month there is only one, which is fine with me.  The last full moon we had was quite striking as it brought us the wrath of Hurricane Sandy.  I had only five days of no electric and limited water, but others in my city are still feeling the after effects.

A Conversation with the Dolphins

With all the changes that are going on on our planet Earth, and with me being quite an ultra sensitive person, I decided to take a subway ride to the beach. The ocean, for me, is one of the quickest  and easiest ways to get grounded.I am a Pisces (the fish) and that may have something to do  with it as well.

I find that it is extremely difficult to stay grounded while living in New York City. I love my city parks, but hugging a tree can only do so mu...

Mother's Day: A Perspective for Indigo Parents

Posted by EnlightenedIndigoChild on May 13, 2012 at 1:00 AM Comments comments (0)

I was just doing a little Spring cleaning this afternoon, and discovered some handmade greeting cards that my daughter had made for me when she was young.  Deep emotions welled up from within as I looked through the many homemade birthday and Mother’s day cards that she had created, some with three dimensional moving parts and beautiful poetry. Hallmark  doesn’t even come close to the intricacies and care of these homemade cards.

Easy Grounding Technique

Posted by EnlightenedIndigoChild on April 11, 2012 at 8:45 PM Comments comments (0)

So much energy is shifting on the planet.  Earthquakes (small and big ones) are happening daily. Solar flares are happening daily. And as for us, many people are getting horribly sick, feeling out of sorts and having frequent bouts of anxiety, aches and pains, vertigo, sleepless nights, and just not feeling right.

Depending on where you are on your path of ascending, you may be feeling these symptoms intensely or really not at all. We have found, that the younger your age, the bet...

Solar Flares

Posted by EnlightenedIndigoChild on December 3, 2011 at 6:55 PM Comments comments (9)

Have you been feeling off lately?

It may have started a little before Thanksgiving Day and then escalated on that Thursday or Friday morning, since the planets around us were in a very unusual alignment  on those days. Besides being in Mercury Retrograde, we are also experiencing unusual amounts of solar flares.

Giving Thanks

Posted by EnlightenedIndigoChild on November 24, 2011 at 10:05 PM Comments comments (2)

In conventional circles, Thanksgiving is when we stuff our faces, and show off to our family. But as Indigos, we know that Thanksgiving is a time to remember our blessings and feel gratitude for them.

Reflecting on the spirit of the holiday, here are some channeled words of wisdom from the original Pilgrims at the original Thanksgiving celebration.

We were scared; most of our food supplies were gone. Our people were dying or sick and we were...

Mermaids and Me

Although most people would arrive at the beach sometime in the middle of the day to soak up the rays and get some color, I am not most people.

In this modern day of Vitamin D deficiency that is contributing to a plethora of illnesses (depression, osteoporosis, chronic fatigue, heart disease, diabetes, stroke, and of course, rickets), I have come to believe that it is extremely important to get a safe dose of the Sunshine Vitamin (Vitamin D) whenever you can.

May 21, 2011- Day of Ascension

Posted by EnlightenedIndigoChild on May 19, 2011 at 1:15 AM Comments comments (2)

As most of us already know, there are a lot of planetary shifts that have occurred in the recent few years.  The most obvious well known aspect is the reversal of the magnetic north and south poles. Apparently this only happens once every 13,000 years, and for the first time, there just happens to be 7 billion people here on the planet to experience it.  This polar shifting has created many repercussions that have manifested in the form of  tsunamis, earthquakes, hurricanes, to...

The Joy of No TV

Posted by EnlightenedIndigoChild on January 12, 2011 at 12:25 AM Comments comments (0)

In this society, media is quite important for the adolescent. Being part of the “In” crowd, knowing trends, and who’s who in the celebrity circuit can definitely impact peer relationships.

So, when my mom pulled the cable on the television,  I thought my world caved in. It’s been 2 years with no TV. And guess what? I survived.  I wouldn’t say that I thrived, but yes, I see that my life is definitely going in th...

Celestial Secrets: Puppy Wisdom

Posted by EnlightenedIndigoChild on October 12, 2010 at 1:45 AM Comments comments (1)

As a first time dog owner, and as a former scaredy-cat of dogs, you could say that co-habitating with a dog is a "big deal".  When Celeste first came into my life, I did not fully appreciate how extraordinary she was. At that time, I was just getting used to her barking and getting her potty trained. When I actually started to talk to her telepathically, I learned that she had great secrets and insights to share about life.

Gratitude

Posted by EnlightenedIndigoChild on October 8, 2010 at 12:05 AM Comments comments (2)

An easy way to stay present is to list all the current things you are grateful for.

This list does not have to be complicated with the extravagant things you own. You can start with the fact that you have eyes to read this Blog. And your fingers are nimble enough to work a keyboard on the computer that took you here. Most people take for granted the simplest ...

Message from the Trees

Posted by EnlightenedIndigoChild on October 1, 2010 at 1:10 AM Comments comments (0)

My mom and I are in Portland, Oregon this week. It’s a big difference from NYC.

The trees are everywhere and the grass feels like the most luxurious shag carpeting. It’s been a beautiful week with beautiful weather.

This change in environment has been very therapeutic for us. Every day we have run barefoot on the grass and literally hugged a t...

Music for Health

They say that “music soothes the savage beast”, and since Indigos can have a wild side, it is important that they get a daily dose of melodic rhythm that soothes. Music therapy is a new field of healing science that has been shown to affect the physical, mental and emotional levels of most who hear it. This music or sound therapy should be grounding, uplifting, and possibly include sounds of nature.

Healing Energy of Pets

Everyone knows that pets can have a positive effect on your health. Studies show that they help us fight depression, lower our blood pressure, reduce stress and prevent heart disease. Pets do this by showing us unconditional love.

This elusive unconditional love is so hard to find in everyday life.  Most everyone we know is usually judging us. “You’re too fat, too skinny, too pretty, too ugly, too nice, too mean, too trusting, too suspiciousR...

Wow. What a concept. Yes, hug a tree! Try it for 15 minutes straight and see if you don't feel like a new person.

Don't have a tree in your backyard? Then just lay on the grass and rub your bare feet and hands into the earth.

Aromatherapy essential oils are scents used for physical and emotional health. Each essential oil has unique therapeutic properties and benefits.

Releasing Sensory Overload

Nature is so important in our lives, yet most of us take it for granted. As a sensitive person, you need to unload energetic toxins. These are the toxins picked up from EMF waves- cell phones, computers, microwaves,TVs and just about all electrical appliances. They can also be picked up by being in the presence of low frequency people and environments.

Grounding

Posted by EnlightenedIndigoChild on August 31, 2010 at 11:15 PM Comments comments (1)

What is this word "grounding" that we hear so much about? Basically it means being present in your body and at one with the Earth. The challenge is that there are so many distractions going on around us that we do in fact forget ourselves.

Grounding

We are spiritual beings...
